A fair look at four free CAT platforms, what each does best and where Percentyl fits.
Preparing for CAT 2026? Solve 1000+ Free Questions on Percentyl
The best free CAT preparation website depends on what you need on a given day. For a structured, all-in-one home base, use Percentyl. For daily practice and mocks, Cracku. For a deep question bank and past papers, 2IIM. For free concept videos, Rodha.
Here's an honest look at all four, what each one gives you for free and how to combine them so you never have to pay for coaching.
Platform | Best for | Standout free content |
|---|---|---|
Structured all-in-one prep | Daily RC, difficulty-tagged question bank, progress tracking, study plan | |
Daily practice and mocks | 15 daily targets, 3 full mocks with video solutions | |
Question bank and past papers | Roughly 2,000 questions, all CAT papers from 2017 to 2025 with solutions | |
Concept videos | 1,400+ free YouTube videos across QA, DILR and VARC |
Free is easy to find. Useful is harder. Before you trust any site with your prep time, run it through five questions.
No single free site wins on all five. That's why most toppers quietly use two or three together. Here's how the popular ones stack up.
Percentyl is built to fix the one thing free prep usually gets wrong, which is structure. The material is free, but it's organised like a course rather than a pile of PDFs.
You get a fresh Reading Comprehension set every day. The question bank spans VARC, DILR and Quant, with every question tagged by difficulty and a full worked solution attached. Chapter-level progress tracking shows you what's done and what's left, so you always know if you're moving.
There's also a set study plan so you're not guessing the order, plus interview-stage material for WAT, GD and PI, a percentile predictor and a college comparison tool. It's built by Shweta Arora, an IIM Ahmedabad graduate. The platform is backed by a large MBA-focused content library.
The honest caveat: it's one platform, so it won't replace watching a great teacher explain a concept on video. Pair it with Rodha for that.
Cracku's strength is building a daily habit. Its CAT Daily Target gives you three free tests every weekday across VARC, DILR and Quant, with video solutions, free as long as you take them on the release day.
You also get three full CAT mock tests free, again with video solutions, plus free previous papers and a formula PDF. Tens of thousands of aspirants take Cracku's free mocks every year, so the percentile estimate carries some weight.
The caveat: the larger mock series and the full course are paid. The free tier is generous for daily practice, less so for a long run of full-length mocks.
If you want depth of questions with strong solutions, 2IIM is hard to beat for free. Its question bank runs to roughly 2,000 questions, with over a thousand carrying video solutions.
The real prize is the past papers. 2IIM has compiled every CAT paper from 2017 to 2025 with video and text solutions. Most of it needs no sign-up. Past papers are the closest thing to the real exam, so this alone is worth bookmarking.
The caveat: content sits across a couple of different 2IIM sites, so it can feel scattered. The full structured course is paid.
Rodha is the best free option for learning a concept from scratch. Its YouTube channel holds more than 1,400 free videos across Quant, DILR and VARC, taught by Ravi Prakash for Quant and LRDI and by KD Sir for VARC.
Beyond videos there are free mocks with solutions, strategy sessions and the first few classes of each paid batch opened up for a real trial. If you're starting a topic from zero, watch the Rodha video first. Ravi Prakash is one of the top educators in the industry.
The caveat: it's video-first, so it's teaching rather than an integrated practice-and-tracking platform. Full batches are paid.
Don't pick one. Combine them, then let Percentyl be the home base that keeps it structured.
Learn a new concept from a Rodha video. Practise it, tagged by difficulty and tracked, on Percentyl. Do a daily target on Cracku to keep the habit. Solve past papers on 2IIM as the exam nears. That stack is free and covers every gap.

Yes. Coaching mostly sells structure and accountability, not secret content. If you combine free concept videos, a difficulty-tagged question bank, daily practice and past papers, you have everything a paid course gives you.
Yes, the study material is free. It's built by Shweta Arora, an IIM Ahmedabad graduate. The platform is backed by a large MBA-focused content library, so the quality holds up rather than being bait for an upsell.
