SDA Bocconi Asia Center in Mumbai has opened admissions for its International Master in Business (IMB) 2027-29. Round 1 closes on 30 November 2026 and Round 2 on 25 January 2027. You can apply with CAT 2025 or 2026, GMAT, GRE, NMAT or the free Bocconi Test. You can apply using this link.
The timing matters if you are sitting CAT on 29 November. Round 1 closes the next day, long before CAT 2026 results, so a Round 1 application needs a score you already hold or a Bocconi Test. Hostel rooms in Mumbai are also allotted first come, first served, which gives early rounds a practical edge beyond the seats themselves.

You need an undergraduate degree in any discipline, or to be in your final year when you apply. The academic bar has two parts and you must clear both.
The second rule is the one that filters people out. Scores of 60%, 75% and 70% clear the 55% floor in every stage, but average 68.3% and miss the 70% aggregate.
The IMB is built for freshers and young professionals with up to five years of work experience. The current class reflects that. Its average age is 23, 52% of students are women, they come from 23 Indian states and union territories and 55% joined with work experience.
Only full-time paid work after graduation counts. Internships, part-time roles, project work, articleship and anything before your degree are excluded. Self-employment counts only with income tax returns and firm documents such as a partnership deed, a GST registration or audited accounts.
Exam | Valid scores |

If you submit more than one score, the best one counts. No cut-off is published for any exam. The admissions page says an average score can be offset by strengths elsewhere in your profile.
The Bocconi Test is the school's own online exam. It has 54 questions across three sections of 18 each: verbal reasoning, numeric reasoning and inductive reasoning. It runs for about 70 minutes, is computer adaptive and has no negative marking.
The result is pass or fail, with no score disclosed. The admissions team decides who may take it. It is usually offered to candidates without another valid score, or whose score falls short of what the committee wants to see.
Selection is a full profile review rather than a score cut. The process runs in five steps.
Step | What happens |
1. Online application | Form with the Rs 3,500 fee |
2. Documents | Test score, CV, transcripts and essays |
3. Bocconi Test | Only if the admissions team asks for it |
4. Interviews | An AI interview first, then a personal interview |
5. Offer | Admissions committee decision, with any tuition waiver |

The AI interview is an online round that assesses communication and behavioural parameters. The personal interview follows a pre-selection on your submitted dossier and tests problem solving, communication and your overall profile.
The committee also weighs extracurriculars such as leadership, entrepreneurship, sports, cultural arts and community work. These feed the scholarship decision too.
The total is Rs 20,75,000, paid in instalments that are shared with the offer letter. Taxes and cesses are charged on top at the rate applicable when you pay.
Component | Amount |
Admission fee | Rs 2,75,000 |
Tuition and academic fee, including Milan tuition | Rs 18,00,000 |
Total programme fee | Rs 20,75,000 |

Airfare | 850 to 1,000 euros |
Housing | 500 to 650 euros a month |
Food | 12 euros per meal box |

Merit-based tuition waivers come in three levels: 30%, 50% or 80%. They are decided on academics, test performance, professional or extracurricular achievement and interview performance.
Three separate grants of Rs 2 lakh each also exist: the Dean's Award for outstanding academics, Women in Leadership and the Co-Curricular Talent grant for sports, arts, social impact or entrepreneurship. The scholarship committee's decision is final. Education loans are available through Credila, Axis Bank, Eduvanz, IDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Tata Capital.
