Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow), established in 1984, is one of India’s leading management institutes and the fourth IIM to be set up in the country. Its flagship two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management leads to an MBA degree and is offered as a full-time residential programme. IIM Lucknow was ranked #5 in the Management category in NIRF 2025.
For the 2026 placement season, the combined PGP and PGP-ABM cohort reported an average package of ₹33.2 lakh and a highest domestic package of ₹1 crore. The placement cohort comprised 559 students and received more than 580 offers. The core programme fee for the 2026–28 batch is ₹20.5 lakh, excluding mess charges and certain additional deposits and fees.
Admission to the flagship MBA programme is through CAT. For the 2026–28 batch, General-category candidates need a minimum overall CAT percentile of 90, along with at least 85 percentile in each section, to be considered for the next stage. Clearing these minimum cutoffs does not guarantee an interview call, as IIM Lucknow also considers academics, work experience, diversity and other components while preparing its shortlist.
The PGP’s total fee is ₹20.5 lakh, and the PGP-ABM charges the same. The PGP-SM costs ₹20.5 lakh. The IPMX costs ₹26 lakh including hostel and meals.
The PGP and PGP-ABM published one average package, ₹33.2 lakh, for the 2026 season. The PGP-SM’s average was ₹22 lakh for 2026. The IPMX’s average was ₹27.65 lakh for 2026.
General-category applicants need at least 90 percentile overall in CAT and 85 in every section to be considered. These are floors; admitted candidates usually score higher.
General candidates were shortlisted at 49.85 on the institute's composite score for 2026–28, down from 53.24 the year before but above 48.81 two years earlier — the bar moves around.
