CAT 2026 fee payment window extended to 24 September, 5:00 PM, for already-registered candidates
The IIMs have given two extra days to pay the CAT 2026 fee, until 5:00 PM on 24 September. Only candidates who registered by 22 September can use it.
In a media release dated 22 September 2026, the IIMs extended the CAT 2026 fee payment window by two days, until 24 September 2026 at 5:00 PM IST.
This extension is available only to candidates who completed their registration by the registration deadline of 22 September 2026. If you did not register by 5:00 PM on 22 September, this window does not apply to you — the registration deadline itself has not been extended.
The fee is Rs 2,700 for General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates and Rs 1,350 for SC, ST and PwD candidates, and it is non-refundable once paid. Payment is made online through the CAT portal after logging in at https://iimcat.ac.in.
An application is treated as complete only once the fee has been paid, so registered candidates with a pending payment should complete it well before 5:00 PM on 24 September rather than waiting for the final hours.
