CAT 2026 is confirmed for Sunday, 29 November 2026 in three sessions: 120 minutes, three 40-minute sections, with no switching between sections.
CAT 2026 will be conducted on Sunday, 29 November 2026 in three sessions. The IIMs note they reserve the right to change the test date and time if the situation so warrants.
The test will be held in approximately 170 cities. Candidates choose five preferred cities during registration, and the CAT Centre will try to allot one of those preferences, though in regions of high demand it may allot a nearby centre. Once a centre is allotted, no change is permitted.
The duration of the test is 120 minutes, with three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. Exactly 40 minutes are allotted per section and candidates cannot switch between sections while answering. A mock test to understand the format will be made available on the CAT website.
