Advice Needed: Building Quant skills from scratch for CAT

Asked by Anonymous on 2026-04-11 in CAT Prep

I am targeting CAT 2027 and currently have an 8.5 CGPA in my BBA. However, my biggest hurdle is a near-zero foundation in Mathematics.

Beyond basic arithmetic—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—I have no prior knowledge of the subject, as I avoided it throughout my school years (scoring 55% in 10th and 65% in 12th).

I have 1.5 years to prepare and am fully committed to the grind. Could you please guide me on:

The Roadmap: How do I build a foundation from scratch to reach CAT-level proficiency? Resources: Which specific books or study materials are best for a student starting from the absolute basics? Profile: Given my past academic scores, how should I strategize to remain competitive for top-tier IIMs?"
