Does anyone else feel IMS VARC material is not good?

Asked by Anonymous on 2026-09-20 in CAT Prep

I have been using Gego VARC 1000 and IMS.

I consistently do badly in IMS prep material (negative-single digit marks too) and i can see an improvement through Gego VARC 1000 but IMS somehow does nto seem to improve.

Some of IMS' questions are such minute difference that we are supposed to notice in the passage instead of focusing on deriving the actual meaning and gist of the passage. and as for options - ive seen MY GPT get confused with some of the option traps

Idk if im tripping and just annoyed with my VARC prep but please let me know if anyone else has a similar view

I completely agree. Since I started taking IMS mocks, my VARC score has fallen drastically. I used to score better in past years' CAT Papers.

Yupp some IMS questions do feel unnecessarily tricky with very close options if you’re consistently improving with VARC 1000 focus more on that and CAT PYQs ultimately PYQs are the best benchmark for the actual CAT level
