Does anyone else understand concepts but completely freeze while solving questions?
Asked by Anonymous on 2026-07-22 in CAT Prep
I watch the lectures, understand the concepts while the teacher is explaining them, but when I sit down to solve questions on my own, I just get stuck. Most of the time I can't solve them, and even after watching the solutions, I feel like I wouldn't have been able to think of that approach myself. It makes me question whether I'm actually learning anything. Every practice session ends up hurting my confidence, and I'm starting to feel anxious before even attempting questions. I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences because right now it feels like I'm not making any progress.

No, because when i know that if i'm freeing that my concepts aren't clear or the way i'm applying isn't clear i'll try to retain or will watch how to solve it and go further

You are making steady progress - even if it's not visible! Just trust the process, it is bound to break us before it makes us fly!
This happens with me, I mostly go to the solution and check what happened and what I didn't do! And even if I don't understand, I make chat gpt explain me!
