If you're aiming for top percentile in VARC then you'll have to attempt 4 RCs and 4-5 VA questions. And for LRDI one set would get you 85-90 percentile while if you do two you will get 97-98 percentile or more.

In VARC : make sure you have had enough practise of RC's before the D-day. You will need to understand your strength of VA or RC in the mocks and sectionals, try 4 RC's for 4-5 mocks , if it works , stick with it and practise more . If it doesn't try for 3RC's
DILR : if luck works your way and the dilr section has more DI sets then , you have conquered the section. Or else you will need to analyse the sets properly to see which set would be suitable and easy for you to crack. This only comes with lot of set solving
Stop seeing DILR as separate because CAT in the recent years gives DI+ LR sets.

I agree with what sujay says about LRDI, but I do not fully agree with him on the VARC section! I think 3 RC and VA will suffice, if mostly questions marked are correct!
Aim in hitting the Bulls eye should be top notch in that case, if not then reading speed and attempt should be more as he says - 4 RCs!
It depends - on you!
Hope it helped!

I guess 3 RC followed by VA will work fine as RCs themselves are very draining and if it comes from an unfamiliar territory then I will take you more time to understand and answer. In comparison to VA, you can atleast attempt them as you have less content to read
