CAT form filling issue.

Asked by bella on 2026-08-03 in CAT Prep

hey guys, while filling cat application form, some of us realized they are asking maximum marks and total marks achieved, which a lot of students don't have cause our universities hands us cgpa, which can be converted into percentage but not exact marks. what to do ?

To get the obtained marks multiply the CGPA by 9.5
AND
for total of you have 5 subjects = take 500 (5*100)

Hope it helps, tc

I think below given is the method to do it :-
say your CGPA IS 8.25, multiply this with 10 => 8.25*10 = becomes 82.5, divide this by 100 and multiply with total possible marks (2400 in my example : 4 semesters * 6 subjects with 100 maximum marks allotted to each = 2400) gives marks obtained = 1980 and total possible marks = 2400.
there is no inconsistency in this method, if someone didnt understand, you can go visit CGPA to Marks calculator website, I guess its name is cgpacalculation.net or something.
Hope it helps.
