Just stop thinking about the negatives so much and focus on the positive aspects of your life. Meditate to calm your mind and thoughts, listen to some music. And know that worrying or stressing about things isn't going to solve anything. Do your work- things that you're supposed to do and be patient and consistent, believe in yourself and your problems will be solved. Stress and mental pressure will just reduce your efficiency in everything. Also include exercise into your daily routine to feel good and relaxed. Just focus on your actions, on the present and do not obsess over the outcomes or the future.

Hey, don't think your problems are small. If your mom is going through heart surgery, it's completely normal that your mind isn't on studies all the time. On top of that, you're handling household work too, so anyone in your place would feel stressed.

For now, don't put pressure on yourself to study 8-10 hours. Even 3-4 hours of focused study is enough if you're consistent. Try studying in small sessions whenever you get some free time instead of thinking about completing a huge target.

And about your partner, he has just started his MBA, so his schedule must be really hectic. Those 15-20 minutes you both talk every day still matter. Try not to overthink that part.

Things will get better once your mom's surgery is over. Till then, just do what you can every day and don't compare yourself with people who have fewer responsibilities. Wishing your mom a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Take care.

I would like to share my experience. I have been dealing with Major Depressive Disorder and have been on medication for over a year. Small things used to trigger me, and there were numerous challenges such as being rejected by a girl, followed by misunderstandings that ended a 15-year friendship despite my efforts to save it. In addition, I faced academic backlogs in college, family responsibilities involving business and other matters, and a toxic family environment—all occurring simultaneously. Last year, I decided to prioritize my mental health over preparing for the CAT exam. However, I now believe that may have been a mistake, as we cannot wait for everything to align perfectly before starting our preparation. Instead, we should accept problems as part of life and face them alongside our goals. In conclusion, I would advise taking care of yourself, practicing meditation, and engaging in at least one physical activity (such as, running, or working out) to improve your well-being and preparing with it. Your problems are significant, but you are courageous. I pray that your mother’s heart surgery goes well.
