If you have less time for CAT 2027 preparation, your DILR strategy should focus on quality sets, consistency, and analysis rather than solving hundreds of random questions.

If You Can Give Only 30 Minutes Daily
Daily
Solve 2 DILR sets
1 LR set
1 DI set
Spend 15 minutes analyzing mistakes.
Weekly
12–15 quality sets
1 sectional test every 2 weeks

Target before CAT: 400–500 good sets.

If You Can Give 1 Hour Daily
Daily
Solve 3–4 sets
Time yourself (12–15 minutes per set)
Analyze every set thoroughly
Weekly
20–25 sets
1 sectional test every week

Target before CAT: 700+ sets.

If You Can Give Only 2–3 Months Before CAT
Month 1
Arrangements
Games & Tournaments
Distribution
Tables & Charts
Month 2
Previous CAT DILR Sets (2020–2026)
3–4 sets daily
Month 3
Sectional tests (3 per week)
Full mocks (2 per week)

Focus only on:

Previous CAT questions
Mock DILR sections
Set selection skills
Most Important DILR Topics (Highest Priority)
Seating Arrangements
Distribution & Selection
Games and Tournaments
Venn Diagram-Based Sets
Tables & Caselets
Mixed Graphs
Scheduling

Master these first before moving to niche topics.

80/20 Rule for DILR

If time is limited:

Spend 20% time learning concepts
Spend 80% time solving complete sets

Many CAT aspirants watch hours of DILR videos but don't solve enough sets. Solving and analyzing sets is what improves scores.

Minimum Effective Plan

Even if you're busy with college:

45–60 minutes daily
3 sets per day
1 sectional test per week
Analyze every mistake

Doing this consistently from now until CAT 2027 can realistically put you in a strong position for a high DILR percentile.
