Does failing in Accounts in 12th affect CAT/IIM chances & what should I focus on

Asked by Anonymous on 2026-04-19 in CAT Prep

I am currently pursuing BBA (4th semester) and preparing for CAT. I scored 67% in 10th and 76% in 12th. I faced failure twice, but only in the subject of Accounts, which makes me anxious about my profile.
I want to know:
. Does failing in a single subject like Accounts affect chances of getting into top B-schools like IIMs?
.How much weightage is given to academics vs CAT score?
.As I am in 4th semester of BBA, what should I focus more on right now — CAT preparation or BBA academics?
.What can I do to improve my profile and compensate for this?

i mean even if you score high mark in cat and did not complete degree at time. the cat score will propobly go useless, so you should care about acadamics too, don't have to score high cgpa but clear arrears score enough cgpa and prepare for cat too
