Feeling stuck with CAT prep, need some advice

Asked by Anonymous on 2026-09-08 in CAT Prep

Hey guys, I’m preparing for CAT 2026 and honestly I’m feeling pretty stuck right now.

I know I need to study and I know I’ve already wasted a lot of time, but somehow I keep getting distracted and end up doing things other than studying. Then I feel guilty about wasting the day, and the same cycle repeats.

Now I’m just confused about how to restart properly and get some consistency. Is this a common phase during CAT prep? If anyone has gone through something similar, how did you get yourself back on track?

Would really appreciate some practical advice on how I should restart my prep from here.

for the issue you are facing you need a proper and honest answer of this "WHY" are you preparing for this exam what is your end goal what are your ambitions everyone feels stuck as our human mind tries to escape from hard things and fall back to cheap dopamine stuff but you need to force your brain to act and work even when you are not able to do it just think right now you are thinking of these things and getting distracted but somewhere around a same type of student also preparing maybe more weaker than you or is just starting the prep now isn't sitting and thinking how will I do it this is so hard he is just doing what he has to do you can find lot's of videos on YT on how to structure your prep you have so many resources available to you the thing you need is stop your brain to control you and you control your brain this is hard in the first few days but as soon as you are doing the same repetitive tasks daily your brain gets adapted to it and doesn't revolve around to get distracted the only thing which can help you right now is only you and how you structure the last few days left for the exam as everyone is competing against each other and nobody cares what you are dealing with you are the only one who can help yourself so just stop overthinking and wasting your time and just sit and study and get uncomfortable with as much as you can then only you can progress. All the best !!!

been there the best way to escape it is by doing, start putting actions make tiny goals, write them in a notebook and complete them by the end of day you will feel fulfilled and then that small gratitude and reward will turn into a habit and a routine and at the end that routine will reward you in the exam.

Same loop is going for me. And with all this not able to understand from where to start and complete from now on mainly in QA. Also stressed about the exam and colleges forms to fill as keeping current prep in mind
