Your academic profile is:

10th: 93%
12th: 92%
Graduation (B.Com): 7.5 CGPA
Fresher (no full-time work experience)
6-month internship
Non-mathematics background
Just graduated

This is a good profile for CAT, especially because your 10th and 12th scores are strong. The main areas to improve are CAT percentile, graduation score (which is now fixed), and profile-building activities.

What Should Be Your CAT Target?

Since you're a B.Com fresher with strong school academics:

Institute Category Recommended CAT Percentile Target
IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta 99.5%+
IIM Lucknow, Kozhikode, Indore 98.5–99.5%
IIM Mumbai, Shillong, CAP IIMs 95–98.5%
FMS Delhi 99%+
SPJIMR 95–99% (profile-based calls possible)
MDI Gurgaon 95–98%

For maximum opportunities, aim for 99+ percentile.

How to Improve Your Profile

Since academics can't be changed now, focus on:

1. Professional Certifications

Relevant certifications add value and help during interviews.

Consider:

Advanced Excel
Power BI
Financial Modelling
SQL
Data Analytics
Digital Marketing (if interested)

Certificates alone won't get MBA calls, but they strengthen your profile and interview discussions.

2. Additional Internships or Work Experience

If possible before CAT 2027:

Try for a finance, analytics, operations, consulting, sales, or business-related role.
Even 12–18 months of quality work experience significantly improves many MBA applications.

This should be your highest profile-building priority.

3. Extracurricular Achievements

Try to build:

Leadership positions
Volunteering
Event management
College committees
NGO activities
Competitions

MBA interviews often look for examples of initiative and leadership.

Improving Quant (Non-Maths Background)

The biggest mistake non-engineers make is rushing to difficult topics.

Phase 1

Master:

Percentages
Ratio & Proportion
Averages
Profit & Loss
Simple & Compound Interest
Time & Work
Time, Speed & Distance
Phase 2

Move to:

Algebra
Linear Equations
Quadratic Equations
Functions
Logarithms
Daily Quant Routine
1 hour concept learning
20–25 questions
Maintain an error notebook

For CAT, arithmetic and algebra contribute a major share of questions.

Improving VARC

VARC is usually the most scoreable section for commerce students.

Daily Routine
Reading (45–60 min)

Read from:

Aeon Essays
The Economist
The Guardian Long Reads

Focus on:

Philosophy
Psychology
Economics
History
Science
RC Practice
2 passages daily
Analyze every option, not just the correct answer
Verbal Ability

Practice:

Para Jumbles
Para Summary
Odd One Out
Suggested 10/2/3 Daily Pattern

If by 10/2/3 you mean:

10 QA questions
2 DILR sets
3 RCs

You can gradually scale it to:

First 3–4 Months
15 QA questions
2 DILR sets
2 RCs
After Foundation
25 QA questions
3 DILR sets
3 RCs

Consistency matters more than volume.

Priority Order for You
Get a strong CAT percentile (99%+ target).
Try to gain quality work experience before MBA admissions.
Improve Quant fundamentals systematic
