how to improve in LRDI and quants

Asked by Prachi Singh on 2026-03-25 in CAT Prep

I started my prep in jan but i dont know if i am progressing at all because my calculation is very slow, i havent been able to solve or crack a single set of lrdi on my own and in quants also i can barely solve any question on my own. this is going to be my only attempt for cat and i really want to get it right. i am preparing from rodha and had a lot of backlog because i joined late so majority of my time went in covering up backlog classes which still is left but i forget concepts and am not able to solve and march is ending already its very demotivating and scary please guide

Hey Prachi, first of all, please don't worry about not getting the questions right at this point or not being able to solve them as well, because this is not the stage to be getting the questions right. This is just the stage to be attempting them, trying to understand from the solutions and then noting the concepts or formulas in your formula book.

As long as you are following this process, you are on track. If you start evaluating yourself right now, you will get demotivated, because this is not the right stage. That stage appears after July.

Regarding the backlog classes, I would personally recommend that if you have the recorded lessons, you can watch them after covering the entire syllabus. Currently, go ahead with the coaching institute's plan and follow it through. Focus on the present rather than going through the backlog. That will keep you more consistent. And don't worry, you will be able to take up the backlog later on. Just focus. Just ensure that you cover your syllabus by July end or August end.
