CAT is Accepted by most of the colleges in India
If you a good percentile then it can open many doors with "Good packages" as you wanted.
Else, there are OMETs such as NMAT, SNAP, CMAT etc which are comparatively on the easier side but they have their own challenges. Good Luck !!

Yes you're right. You have to score atleast 90+ percentile to get into a decent B-school and get a good package. More the percentile, better your chances of getting into top institutes.

Cracking "CAT" exam is totally different for different individuals ,Top 3 IIMs is like 99+%tile(mostly), Then for IIMs- L, K ,I,S,M its i guess 98+%tile and other IIMs - 95%tile other than that NON IIMs through CAT Tier 1 college Usually go for 90 - 95+%tile, then tier 2 college 85+%tile (acco. to google and some ppl i have talked with),and not always a good collge = good package its abt how much you utilze what collge you get in and more by your ownself. If not CAT there's - NMAT,SNAP,XAT,MH-CET etc.. define what cracking CAT is for you as an individual . Work for your dream college! best of luck
