if one is preparing for cat for 5 months only very weak in maths basics and logical reasoning is like avg and varc to so in that case does one should have a backup option of other entrances is good or bad. Mocks mai toh sirf varc hi kr pa rhi hu nothing else and ye bhi surity ni h ki exam enviornment m kar pauu ki nahi

You should have backup options so you don't have to rely on only source as it will create more pressure in you the best backup as you said would be other entrance exams depending upon the colleges you are targeting and even if suppose you don't get your desired results you can still go for a job gain experience and attempt the exams next year there's no harm in it tbh !!!
