How to prepare DILR & VARC with self-study (no structured guidance)?
Asked by Anonymous on 2026-03-27 in CAT Prep
I’m preparing for CAT on my own. For QA, I’m following Ravi Prakash’s playlist, which is quite structured.
However, for DILR and VARC, I’m struggling to find a similarly well-structured approach on YouTube. I do have good material (Arun Sharma books and some free online resources), but I’m unsure about the right preparation strategy.
How should I approach DILR and VARC in a self-study plan to ensure proper structure and consistency?

You can use the DILR videos in the playlist to understand the concepts at a basic level and then attempt questions to solidify them. DILR gets better with practice, no formulas no tricks - just practice. It requires building a logical bent of mind which takes time, so practice more than you watch videos. And for VARC it is mostly VARC like others also said. So, practice RCs and use elimination techniques.
