Gap years won't be an issue. You will get academic diversity points at most IIMs but you need a high CAT percentile to get in because of your graduation marks. Please check if it is 5 CGPA or 50% because most colleges have an eligibility criteria that requires you to pass with min 50% marks to be eligible for CAT. You'll need upwards of 99.5 to make the cut. But, I can be wrong given the limited number of pol science profiles I know of.
