Question regarding mocks

Asked by Anonymous on 2026-09-08 in CAT Prep

Hello everybody.... As I fall in the trap of completing the syllabus first then mocks......
Day passes but syllabus isn't complete.....
So I decided to take sectionals this month as many as I can and full mock test from October onwards.......

As I started my prep 3 months ago but it didn't gave that much profit coz I only used to watch videos(especially arithmetic)
But now I'm solving quesn ( 15 easy, 15 -20 moderate, pyqs) for each chapter

Plz tell me important topics of quants which can give me high percentile, I know arithmetic and algebra is high yield other than this and what imp in algebra

Rc is also disapponting me

I hope somebody will plz solve my problem and guide me .. ✨

start taking full length mocks from this month onwards , dont wait for october , consistency is the key and not spamming flm in the last two months , start slow and and increase the frequency accordingly

Don’t wait for the syllabus to finish before mocks sectionals now are good but try a couple full mocks too for QA focus on arithmetic and algebra first then geometry in algebra prioritise equations, inequalities, functions, logs and progression for RC do 2 3 passages daily and analyse your mistakes instead of just increasing attempts don’t spend too much time just finishing chapters once you’ve done the basics and some questions move on and keep revising

There's no mandatory number, but 15 to 25 well-analyzed mocks is a healthy target for most candidates. Consistency and deep error analysis after each test will do far more for your percentile than rushing through 40 unanalyzed mocks.

You can practice with past CAT slot papers with timers and percentile analytics on https://thinkcat.in/free-cat-mock-test
