Scored 28 in my first mock.. need some advice

Asked by Mahima on 2026-10-13 in CAT Prep

hey everyone..i gave my first full length mock today and scored 28 despite having attempted a few sectionals before.

I have completed Arithmetic revision and am practising alongside it..number System is also done but i have forgotten quite a bit of Algebraa like how to deal with questions of logarithms and modulus, and havent touched Geometry yet and in dilr i am able to solve one complete set but I often end up getting some answers wrong.

I have genuinely put a lot of time and effort into my preparation, so i would really appreciate some suggestions on how i can improve from here

Don't get disheartened by your first mock! Focus on revising Algebra, start Geometry alongside practice, and prioritise accuracy in DILR. Analyse your mock to identify weak areas and silly mistakes. Consistent practice and analysis will help you improve. All the best! 🙌

For DILR, you can just go through this video. This video is from Elites Grid, and it covers 35-36 sets that complete the whole DILR syllabus, and trust me, after watching this video, your mock score will definitely increase "https://youtu.be/sN4GIKb409A?si=siL5g7N4WD4wl8GH" and for quant my only suggestion is if your basics are not clear , so go through rodha sir video, because they were short and to the point and once is done , you can solve as many questions you can.

firstly complete syllabus or if youare appearing for 2026 than do chapterwise topicwise mocks than see if you really understand rather than not studying full sylllabus and gving mocksdthan feeling low
