How to stabilize varc scores?

Asked by Anonymous on 2026-09-23 in CAT Prep

My comprehension is not bad, if the paper is moderate I have scored 30 plus multiple times but I score 10 or 12 marks on odd days when RCs are very unfamiliar or dense or lengthy. I want to stabilize my scoring pattern, so if anyone can suggest a preparation method or strategy to not lose many marks it would be very helpful.

What I do in the mock is, I spend 1 minute to quickly skim through the RCs just to know what topic each RC is talking about and how lengthy it is. It helps me to identify familiar ones and save time. After that, I select 3 RCs that I would like to attempt first; then I solve the VA portion, and if time permits, I solve the 4th RC, otherwise leave it.
