VARC STRESS

Asked by Anonymous on 2026-10-14 in CAT Prep

Can anyone please tell me how I can solve RCs? It’s so stressful… Sometimes I’m able to solve them, but sometimes I just can’t. I really want to crack CAT, but if I’m not able to solve RCs, there’s no point in anything. Please help, guys. I really need your help. PLZZ HELP

I would say try to look just for broad and balanced answers in the options just eliminate personal opinion words like some judgemental words which sound negative upon reading, extra information in the option which is not given in the passage and specific lines from the passage these are the biggest traps which are in the options as all these are inference questions you need to master the art of eliminating and inferring the passage in your head what the passage is talking about and what specific line it is referring to and for strengthen and weaken part look you need get a little summary in your head about what the passage is about and what it is talking about like is it arguing, balanced tone or alarming stuff like that and try to find the lines the options can help in strengthen or weaken this will come only if you practice enough and calmly solve enough RCs for first few days don't think about the timer your only target should be 4/4 in the RC as you start getting all the correct your speed will ultimately improve and practice PYQs right now as these are the best resource you can do right now once you start getting enough correct you are sorted in the VARC section.

see i would suggest that whenever you read an rc dont just focus on every single detail try to understand the authors pov and the gist...while answering the questions use the elimination techniques for ex if an option contains extreme words like should or never and the passage doesnt support such a strong statement you can eliminate it..after attempting it analyse your mistakes and understand why you got an answer wrong and why the correct option is better..also, practice passages from different topics...the daily challenge on this platform can help with that too..i have also seen a pdf containing 100 rcs on this platform that covers different difficulty levels so you can practice from that as well...and lastly consistent practice with analysis will definitely help you to improve
