Can I quit right now?

Asked by Sneha Biswas on 2026-07-10 in General MBA Doubts

Hi Shweta di. I have been working since 25th Aug 2025. Currently my boss has been extremely pressurising me with workload. It's not just normal work. He makes all my efforts go for nothing and keeps on changing his instructions every single day. It's becoming way more difficult to manage my studies with such a job. I was thinking to resign this month and work fully over my cat prep. But will the 11 months experience have no value during mba admissions like for the IIMs. I really need some guidance here di. Or should I go on to complete few more days so that I complete my 12 months. If it doesn't make much difference then I would prefer to quit asap and focus completely on my studies. But will this affect my studies di.

you have almost 45 day to 25th Aug. and in most cases you may get 1 extra work ex points for 12+months then you would get 6 months of work experience (some even consider 6 months to 12 months as same bracket). so, you can quit if you think you can improve your cat prep in this 45 days.

Everyone here is guiding you right - clear the 12 months mark if possible (ensure it is 12 months plus - not exactly 12 since some B-schools write 12+)

The relieving letter you get will mention your last working day. The tenure will get calculated based on your start date and end date, so do that math before you give the notice.

And I am so sorry to hear this is happening. Wish it was easier ❤️
