Is coaching worth taking ?

Asked by Aahwitha on 2026-03-22 in General MBA Doubts

I tried self prep for CAT but I’m struggling a lot.

I keep procrastinating, and whenever I try solving questions it feels like every question is new. I’m not able to apply concepts properly. Maybe because I haven’t practiced enough topic-wise questions.

I really like these teachers:
Quant – MBA Pathshala (Udith Sir)
DILR – Rodha
VARC – VARC1000

But if I take all separately it’s costing around 35k (without mocks and GDPI).

So I’m confused should I go for these individual courses or take a full coaching instead? Or continue self preparation?

My main focus is CAT + OMETs.

Anyone who faced something similar, what did you do?

Don't take individual courses your schedule will get mixed. Either take 1 coaching or use free material with just coaching for the weak section

Firstly, don't worry about getting the questions right at this stage. A new question is actually a good thing - it gives you the opportunity to learn something you didn't know earlier. Right now, the goal should be to get exposed to as many new types of questions as you can.

Regarding coaching - I agree with the other answer you got, taking separate classes may result in clash of timetables or even higher cost. In 35k you can get a full course with mocks and more.

Regarding self-prep - It is completely up to you, you can even watch videos alongside coaching for the chapters you find weaker or take 1 section's classes like Rashmi suggested in her answer.
