Hey guys, I need some advice regarding an error in my CAT 2026 application. I have already submitted my application and paid the fee. After submission, I noticed that I accidentally entered my surname in the “Spouse’s Name” field. I am unmarried, and this field was not mandatory.
I raised a grievance with CAT regarding this issue, and I received a response saying that if I have made a mistake in the application, I must register again using a new email ID, and that the latest registration will be considered.
Since the mistake is only in the Spouse’s Name field and does not affect my name, category, educational qualifications, or work experience, I’m confused about whether I should actually reapply.
Has anyone faced a similar situation? Will this kind of mistake affect my candidature, or should I register again as instructed by the CAT grievance response?

I think you should consider registering again. As, during the interviews, they generally cross check your name and basic details, so to avoid any unnecessary problems, you should do as they suggested.
