Does UG college and degree matter in placements at IIMs, or is the IIM tag enough?

Do recruiters consider a candidate's UG college and degree (online vs regular, NIRF ranking etc.) during placements, or does the IIM tag overshadow everything?
In one of your videos, you mentioned different types of profile "spikes", including an academic spike. I have a 9/9/9 academic profile, my concern is whether this academic consistency can compensate for my UG background?

The UG college tag does matter to a certain extent but not as much as academic marks. A 9/9/9 profile from a never-heard-of college would be preferred over an IITian with 9/8/7. Even in my batch, the top consulting firms (MBB) gave weightage to academic marks over everything else. I was a 9/9/8 student with no work-ex and a DU tag (nowhere in comparison to IIT), yet got a McKinsey call because of the acads + how the rest of the resume was framed.
