the cat percentile totalll depends on which iims you are targeting. if ypu are thinking about blacki then def 99% then one can get pi call at somewhat around 95-97% for new iims and for baby iims 92%+. the percentile also depends on your category. if you are from reserved categories then cutoffs are slightly lower. getting work ex is def a good idea buti it is not abosulte nessasary to have work ex but it does adds you 5% extra points to your profile.
for the last part. ot totally depends on what specialization you want to persue. so try to get jobs related to that only. if you thing you want to persue mba in marketing then go for jobs related to marketing and so on it will help you build your profile in s positive manner.
