GEM Fresher (No Work Ex, Gap Year) – Which IIMs Are Realistic to Convert?
Asked by Anonymous on 2026-03-30 in MBA Colleges
I was checking IIM Rohtak’s batch profile and couldn’t find a single GEM there (forget work ex 😂). So now I’m wondering which IIMs are actually realistic for someone like me. I’m a GEM fresher with no work experience and a gap year. My academics are 94% (10th), 91% (12th), and 7.4 CGPA in graduation. Which IIMs should I realistically target where conversion chances are better?

You have great academic scores, you can surely get into the top IIMs. Work-ex isn't mandatory but will certainly help in your case. Gap years don't matter. You can get in at 99.8+ without work-ex and at a slightly lower number with even 1-2 years of work-ex.
