Firstly, it's a good thing you asked current students because they can tell you the exact picture.
If placements are comparable, the next 2 criteria become:
- brand reputation (IMI wins here)
- location (Pune is better)
Tbh, brand reputation also gives you leverage in the industry as the umbrella brand (IMI) keeps growing. Plus the alumni base.
I'd personally not consider cost as a big criteria given the few extra lakhs you pay can be recouped via better increments/salary hikes you get over time by switching companies which requires network - where brand plays a role.
So, my take would be IMI. But again - talk to more people, visit the campuses if possible. Don't ever decide based only on what someone says online.
