With low % in 10 and 12 , should I go mba?

Asked by Saloni Saraogi on 2026-03-20 in MBA Colleges

I have got low marks in 10th and 12th and I am doing my graduation from St Xavier's College Kolkata. And I am trying my level best to do in cat. Is this a good decision. Or should I do a professional course first and then go for mba? Directly doing mba just after graduation might be wrong choice with low grades in school. Please help me with this and suggest me what should I do.

You can still go for an MBA.

Yes, your 10th/12th/graduation marks matter, but how “low” they are depends on your stream i.e. engineer or non-engineer. The biggest thing in your control right now is your CAT score, that can compensate a lot.

Professional courses like CA/CFA won’t fix your past academics, so don’t do them just for this. If you want to improve your chances, work experience helps more.

If you have more than 80% in 10, 12 and 70 plus in UG then u can still get into good colleges without experience
