Registration Emails from colleges I haven't registered on

Question

Hi guys,
I am getting emails from SDM Bocconi, BIMTECH, GLIM stating I have registered and I need to verify my email, when I click on these links my profile is already made and it is legit but no payment has been done (thankfully)

I have not registered on these sites so can someone pls guide me how it is happening and how I can stop the same because i feel I can get scammed also.

When you apply for CAT, SNAP, NMAT, XAT, etc or sign in to coaching platforms, you agree to certain terms and conditions that allow them to share your contact details (name, phone number, email, etc) with partner universities to create these "shadow profiles" to make applying faster if you wish to do so. You will also get promotional calls and messages prompting you to apply to these universities.

For example- If you check your eligibility for SDA here in this platform, you have to give your phone number and there is a disclaimer that they will contact you for admission related information and updates.

Its a marketing strategy.
