I have watched a bunch of videos on profiles to give this opinion - not 100% apt.
They say with a 6/7 in a profile, your 1st priority should be to score 99.5+ile in CAT and target b-schools who don't put any weightage on past acads (though at the same time there are iims like Calcutta, fms, etc that have students with a 6/7 in their profile)
So, focus on scoring a good percentile in CAT and once you clear for calls, have a well-prepared reason to justify your gap year (because it will only be addressed during your interviews)
