Evaluation of my Profile

Asked by Anonymous on 2026-04-01 in Profile Review

Hi everyone,
I wanted to get an honest evaluation of my profile for MBA colleges in India (like IIMs, XLRI, etc.). Here are my details:
10th: 90.4%
12th: 68.6%
Graduation (BBA): 90%
Work Experience: 0 (fresher)
Category: NC-OBC
Gender: Female
Academic Background: Non-engineer

I’m concerned about my relatively low 12th score and lack of work experience.

My questions are:

What CAT percentile should I realistically target for top IIMs?

How can I strengthen my profile further as a fresher?

Would really appreciate honest feedback and guidance.

Firstly, your profile is good enough. Yes, 12th marks are on the lower side, but they can be compensated by a great CAT percentile, given that you will have the gender, category and academic diversity benefit. For most top B-schools, 99.3+ should be enough. In many, you would require lesser, but aim higher. Regarding the overall profile for shortlisting, nothing else matters. The only other thing you can improve on is work experience, in case you're not preparing for this year's CAT. Otherwise, your overall profile will only help during the interview stage, in which you can do some courses, get internships, do some live projects, participate in online competitions, basically develop a strong skill set.
