I totally agree 💯 freshers get admitted as well and what you have is a decent fresher profile. I'm very positive about it.

You don’t need to panic about the gap. A 9/8/7 + EWS profile with club leadership (President of Investment & Finance Club) is already a decent fresher profile.
Internships help, but they are not mandatory for top B-schools. Many freshers convert IIMs without any internship.
If you’re doing the 4th year honours, that itself is a valid explanation. Just try to add 1–2 short finance internships or live projects during this year.
In interviews, you can simply say: I pursued the honours year while preparing for CAT and worked on finance-related projects to gain practical exposure.
That’s completely acceptable. Focus more on CAT score + interview prep than on hiding a gap.
