Is work ex important for june'2026 graduates writing cat in nov'2026? Would they be counted as freshers too? Would it affect my selection process for bschools?

I'm a BBA graduate from a tier 1-1.5 college with a profile of 8/8/7, I have been active in college with POR's and academic extracurriculars such as a accounting diploma, student program courses etc..
I Just completed my final year, it has been 1.5 months, my doubt is would I be considered a fresher or a student w a gap year? Would it affect my chances at top bschools if I don't work for the next four months?

it will be seen as gap year only because mba sessions would start next june so this will be a gap year. if you wanted to avoid this you should have attempted cat last year so that by now youd be in a clg directly after your undergrad without a gap. the only problem here is youll have to explain your gap year with a good reason in the interview process, it is crucial. work experience is always a plus point and adds extra charm to overall profile but if you work these 4 months instead of prep, you wont have enough time and preparation to crack cat. you have a decent academic profile so id say study hard and score as much as you can all the best <3
