This usually happens, don’t worry.
Banks don’t just look at CIBIL, they also look at the college + placement history. For top IIMs, they have tie-ups, so collateral-free is easier (even some non-IIM colleges fall under this list, check SBI Scholar Loan scheme, a PDF is available on their website that contains list of colleges).
What you can do:
👉 Try NBFCs like HDFC Credila, Avanse, Auxilo etc.
👉 Also check if your college has tie-ups with specific lenders (usually they do)
👉 If possible, add a strong co-applicant (good income)
👉 Last option is partial collateral or smaller loan + rest self-funded e.g. SBI can offer collateral free education loan till 7.5L or something (you'll have to check once)
Hope this helps ❤️
So it’s not just about your CIBIL, it’s mostly about the college risk from their side.
