IIM Lucknow Launches A Two-year MBA In Family Business At Its Noida Campus

IIM Lucknow has launched an MBA in Family Business at its Noida campus and admissions are now open. The programme was announced on October 16, 2026 for the Phase 1 intake, with the batch commencing in the first week of July 2027.

This is a two-year MBA run in an on-campus modular format: participants come to the Noida campus once a month for seven days, with some audit courses and workshops held on weekends. It is non-residential, and the institute is explicit that the programme is not driven by placement or a job as an outcome. The main takeaway is a 5 to 10 year Business Transformation and Growth Plan for your own family enterprise, built across six Family Business Labs and a three-term capstone.

Eligibility is specific and narrow. You need a bachelor's degree or an equivalent professional qualification such as CA, CS or ICWA, a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in class 10, class 12 and your undergraduate degree, and at least 15 years of formal education. Critically, you must be an owner or scion of a family business with a minimum investment in the business or turnover of at least 20 crore rupees per year. You also need a valid GMAT or GRE score, or an IIM Lucknow entrance exam score.

The IIM Lucknow entrance exam is an offline, English-medium, 100-question MCQ test of 120 minutes held at the Noida campus, with sections on Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. Selection weights are 30% standardised test score, 30% academic and professional profile, and 40% personal interview, which includes a presentation on your own family business.

Fees for the 2027-29 batch are a programme fee of 25,00,000 rupees, taking the total to 28,30,000 rupees plus taxes without the optional global immersion, or approximately 35,30,000 rupees plus taxes with it. Candidates who opt out of the global immersion do a dissertation instead for a 3 lakh rupee fee.
