IIM Lucknow launches a two-year MBA in Family Business for business owners and next-gen leaders
A new full MBA at IIM Lucknow's Noida campus for owners and scions of family enterprises, with entry through GMAT, GRE or an IIM Lucknow entrance exam.
IIM Lucknow has launched an MBA in Family Business, a two-year, full-fledged MBA designed for business owners and next-generation leaders of family enterprises. The programme page is now live on the institute's website along with an online application form.
The programme combines management education with family-business expertise, experiential learning through family-business labs, global exposure and entrepreneurial opportunities. The curriculum covers strategy, finance, governance and digital transformation, contextualised to family enterprises, and it draws on the IIM Lucknow Enterprise Incubation Centre ecosystem. The major takeaway is a five to ten year Business Transformation and Growth Plan for your own family enterprise.
IIM Lucknow states clearly that, unlike a traditional MBA, this programme is not driven by placement or a job as an outcome. It is aimed at owners and successors who will return to run and grow their own businesses.
Eligibility, as published officially: a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification such as CA, CS or ICWA from a recognised university in India or abroad; a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in class 10, class 12 and the undergraduate degree; a minimum of 15 years of formal education; and you must be an owner or scion of a family business or enterprise with a minimum investment in the business or turnover of at least Rs 20 crore per annum. Entry is through a valid GMAT or GRE score, or an IIM Lucknow entrance exam score.
Admission will run in two phases, covering the application deadline, entrance exam, shortlist, Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview, and the final selection list. The dates in that schedule table had not been filled in on the official page at the time of checking, so watch the programme page for the phase-wise dates before planning your application.
