Degree: A bachelor's degree under the 10+2+3 pattern, a degree in engineering or technology, agriculture, medicine, education or law, or a postgraduate degree in any discipline, from an Indian university or institution recognised by AIU or AICTE, with the minimum aggregate shown. Entrance test: CAT 2025 for the 2026–28 batch, and a separate application to BHU on its SAMARTH portal (tentatively closing 4 January 2026); CAT's own eligibility rules also apply. One application covers both the MBA and the MBA (International Business). Final-year students: May apply with a certificate from the head of their institution; the qualifying mark-sheet must reach BHU by 5 October of the year of admission. Until then the academic score uses the years already completed, leaving out the final year. Reserved seats: Under University and Government of India rules: SC 15%, ST 7.5%, NC-OBC 27% and EWS 10% of the intake, and 5% for persons with benchmark disabilities (horizontal); a separate final merit list is drawn up for each category. Paid seats: Supernumerary seats of up to 15% of the intake, filled from the same merit list after the regular seats, at ₹75,000 a semester on top of the regular fee. Foreign nationals: Supernumerary seats of up to 15% of the intake; NRI and PIO candidates are considered in this category. They need a valid GMAT score and 50% in graduation, and are ranked on GMAT and an online interview; they pay ₹60,000 a year plus ₹2,10,000 a year (SAARC countries) or ₹3,00,000 a year (other countries). A floor to be considered — not the score that got admitted.

IM-BHU shortlists for the group discussion and interview on CAT 2025 scores (the CAT total percentile, per its programmes page); it publishes no shortlist cut-off. The GD-PI is held in person at the Institute (scheduled for mid-March 2026). Combined merit for the 2026–28 batch, ranked separately in each category. The academic record covers Class X, Class XII and the qualifying degree (BHU does not publish the split). A seat in the MBA or the MBA (International Business) goes by merit and the seats left in that programme at allotment; ties go to the higher marks in the qualifying degree, then to the older candidate.
