Who can apply

How it works: Clearing these CAT 2025 percentiles in each of VARC, DILR and QA puts a candidate into IIM Shillong's shortlisting ranking; no minimum overall percentile is set, and the interview list is drawn later. Categories: IIM Shillong's policy ranks candidates as EWS, SC, ST or Others, with DA candidates within them; it names no separate NC-OBC category, so candidates outside EWS, SC and ST compete as Others. Graduation: A bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or the equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST and DA candidates). Final-year students: May apply; a selected candidate joins provisionally and must show the degree, with the minimum marks, by 31 December 2026. Overseas candidates: Those who cannot take CAT because they live outside India may apply with GMAT Focus 640 or GMAT 690; Indian passport holders need 12 months in a row abroad as on 31 December 2025, and the interview is online. A floor to be considered — not the score that got admitted.

The CAT share is the total CAT 2025 percentile. The application rating scores Class X, Class XII and graduation (up to 10 each) and work experience (up to 14, highest at 18–23 months), divided by the average of the top 50 applicants' ratings. The interview list is then drawn in fixed shares by social category (Others 67.5%, SC 15%, EWS 10%, ST 7.5%), by academic discipline and by gender. Gender-diversity marks go to every candidate not of the gender most represented among CAT 2025 takers. Communication proficiency is assessed at the interview but not scored; a candidate below the interview minimum (30% for Others and EWS, 25% for SC, 20% for ST and DA) is not ranked.
