Degree: A bachelor's degree in any discipline, or a professional qualification equivalent to a UGC-recognised university degree. Entrance test: A CAT 2025 score for the 2026–28 batch; DoMS then sets minimum CAT percentiles for the GD-PI call, shown under the cut-offs. IIT graduates: Graduates of an IIT admitted through JEE, with a CGPA of 7.0 or more out of 10, are exempt from CAT and are called straight to the interview. Golden Girl Scheme: Women who ranked first (gold medallists) in their qualifying degree at an IIT, or at an institution in the NIRF 2025 overall top 50, are exempt from CAT, are called to the GD-PI and take supernumerary seats; not open to final-year students. Final-year students: May apply; admission is provisional until the degree is completed with the minimum marks. Full-time sponsored: Sponsored applicants also need two years' full-time work experience with a public sector undertaking, a listed company, a private firm with an annual turnover above ₹5 crore over the past two years, or a recognised educational, research, government or autonomous body. International applicants: Those without a CAT score or the IIT-graduate route apply through IIT Roorkee's International Relations office, outside the regular seats. The GD-PI call goes by CAT 2025 alone, against DoMS's category minimums (shown under the cut-offs). IIT graduates admitted through JEE with a CGPA of 7 or more, and Golden Girl Scheme candidates, are called without CAT. The 2026 merit list ranks CAT-route candidates on 60% CAT percentile, 30% personal interview and 10% work experience. IIT graduates on the JEE route are ranked on the interview alone, and both routes share one merit list.
