IIM Ahmedabad Audited Placement Report 2026 Released
IIM Ahmedabad reported an average package of ₹36.99L and the highest domestic package of ₹81.6L for its PGP batch of 2026.
IIM Ahmedabad recorded another strong placement season for its PGP Class of 2026. Out of 402 students eligible for placements, 392 participated in the institute’s placement process and all 392 accepted offers. The remaining 10 students opted out for reasons including entrepreneurship, joining a family business, or pursuing opportunities outside the campus placement process. Around 182 firms participated in the season, offering approximately 267 distinct roles, while more than 50 companies recruited from IIM Ahmedabad for the first time. The institute also recorded 151 Dream Applications, through which students who already held an offer could apply to another company or role of their choice.
For domestic placements, the average Maximum Earning Potential (MEP) stood at ₹36.99 lakh per annum, while the median MEP was ₹37 lakh. The highest domestic MEP was ₹81.6 lakh per annum. IIM Ahmedabad separately reports compensation under the Indian Placement Reporting Standards rather than relying only on the commonly used “CTC” figure. Across domestic and international offers combined, the average MEP was approximately ₹37.97 lakh and the median MEP was ₹37 lakh. The average Total Guaranteed Cash Compensation was ₹32.47 lakh, with a median of ₹32.5 lakh. The highest overall MEP reached approximately ₹2.31 crore, but this was an international offer and should not be confused with the highest domestic package.
Consulting continued to be the largest hiring sector at IIM Ahmedabad, accounting for 155 accepted offers—close to 40% of all placements. BFSI was the second-largest sector with 82 offers, followed by Information Technology and conglomerates with 34 offers each. Other sectors represented included consumer services, engineering and technology, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, FMCG, retail, manufacturing, energy and logistics. Some of the most prominent recruiters included Accenture Strategy, Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company, FinIQ Consulting, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Tata Administrative Services and several leading private equity, venture capital and investment firms.
Among consulting firms, Boston Consulting Group made 33 offers, McKinsey & Company made 21 and Bain & Company made 20. Goldman Sachs led the Investment Banking & Markets cohort with 6 offers. IIM Ahmedabad also reported significant growth in several recruiter cohorts, including a 45% increase in offers from the Private Equity, Venture Capital and Asset Management cohort.
Pre-Placement Offers continued to play an important role in the placement process. A total of 203 PPOs were awarded, of which 194 originated from summer internships. Students ultimately accepted 135 PPOs, including 134 internship-based PPOs. Around 58% of the batch was also eligible for the lateral placement process, which is aimed at candidates with prior work experience and provides opportunities for relatively senior or experience-linked roles.
International placements formed a small part of the overall batch, with 6 international offers accepted—4 in Dubai and one each in Hong Kong and Japan. The highest international MEP was USD 243,000, translating to roughly ₹2.31 crore at the exchange rate used for reporting. Since only six of the 392 accepted offers were international, the ₹2.31 crore figure is best viewed as an exceptional international offer rather than a representative indicator of compensation for the overall batch.
Overall, IIM Ahmedabad's PGP Class of 2026 saw 100% placement among students who participated in the institute's placement process, strong recruiter diversity and particularly high demand in consulting and financial services. For students comparing MBA placement outcomes, the most representative headline figures are the domestic average MEP of ₹36.99 lakh, domestic median MEP of ₹37 lakh and highest domestic MEP of ₹81.6 lakh per annum.
